Acrylic on recycled ceiling tiles

“STICKI” is a painting study created for my Visual Cognition course, exploring themes of art appropriation and transformation. Inspired by a photograph by Zhong Lin for Perfect Magazine, the piece reinterprets the stylized fashion image through my own visual language. Painted on recycled ceiling tiles using acrylic, the work reflects my ongoing interest in unconventional materials and their embedded histories. By translating a glossy editorial into textured surfaces, STICKI questions authorship, and the blurred lines between high fashion, fine art, and personal mythologies.
